Herdade do Cebolal Blanc de Noir Castelão

Herdade do Cebolal was one of the first estates on the Alentejo Coast, to produce certified red wines with the “Castelão” grape variety in the late 30s-40s. In 2015 producer Luís Mota Capitão and his family decided to develop different styles from the “Castelão” grape variety in order to show the full potential of this unloved and forgotten grape variety in recent years.

Castelão "Red Grapes White Wine - Blanc Noir" (60 Years Old Vines).
Sand and Limestone.
The grapes were harvested in late August, dictated by weather conditions and grape ripeness. The grape bunches were selected and picked by hand. The wine was fermented with temperature control (14ºC) and aged in stainless steel vats for one year.
This wine ages one year in bottle.
The wine presents a citrus color and a bouquet reminiscent of minerality and flowers. In this tasting, we have good taste sensations, it is fresh on the palate with a clear acidity and a good aftertaste with a mineral character.
3.500 bottles.
Serve at 10-12º.
It can be served with seafood, vegetarian dishes, and white meat.
